Apply your French manicure accurately and consistently every time with Gelous French Nail Tip Guides.

After curing your Colour Coat, wipe your nails with a Lint Free Wipe moistened with Nail Polish Remover to remove the sticky inhibition layer. Place the French Nail Tip Guide just below the white tip of your fingernail or toenail, pressing firmly in place, before applying one of two ways:

Option 1: Apply 2-3 thin coats of your nail tip Colour Coat to the area above the French Nail Tip Guide, curing after each coat with the Gelous UV/LED Gel Nail Lamp. Peel off the French Nail Tip Guide and touch up with a Nail Art Brush as required. Apply your Top Coat as normal.

Option 2: Apply a thin coat of your nail tip Colour Coat to the area above the French Nail Tip Guide, and then remove it. Tidy up with your Oblique Nail Art Brush and touch up with your Detail Brush. Once you are happy with the result, cure with the Gelous UV/LED Gel Nail Lamp. Apply your Top Coat as normal.

Customers say these nail guides make French tips easier, especially for those with unsteady hands. While some find them helpful on longer nails, others note adhesion challenges. Many mention practice improves results, particularly in preventing polish bleeding underneath.

    Easy to use

These make french tips so much easier! Helps to have a small brush to clean up the edges but they are so easy to use!

    Good tool for longer nails

I personally found they didn’t work well with nails that weren’t very long - by the time I’d stuck them down (using standard tweezers, not ideal) I was only painting a centimetre of nail.

I opted to freehand tips instead with the Gelous brushes.

    A Good Guide

I use these every time I'm doing a french tip and they're great for getting an estimation of the french tip shape. Before sticking on, I wipe away the sticky layer with nail polish remover but still find the polish will bleed underneath the sticker a little. I just use an angled brush to clean this up and it turns out perfect. Still recommend!

    Bit of a learning curve

It takes a few goes to get it right. Sometimes the sticker doesn't stay on the edges of my nail, and the polish can seep underneath, making the edges a little bit messy and needing to be tidied up before curing. It does help to achieve a more rounded, consistent french tip though.

    Hi Nadia,

Thanks for the 4-star review and for sharing your honest experience! We're so glad the guides are helping you achieve those lovely rounded, consistent French tips 💕

You're absolutely right that there's definitely a bit of a learning curve with nail guides - they can take a few tries to get the hang of! We totally understand the frustration when the sticker doesn't want to stick properly at the edges and polish seeps underneath. It's one of those things that gets easier with practice, but we know those first few attempts can be a bit fiddly!

Your experience is really helpful for other customers to know what to expect when they first start using these guides. Some people find pressing the edges down really firmly and making sure the nail is completely clean and dry before application can help with adhesion, but every nail shape is different so it can take some experimenting to find what works best.

It's so great to hear that despite the learning curve, you're getting those beautiful consistent French tips! That's exactly what we love to hear. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience - it helps other customers know that while there might be a bit of practice involved, the results are worth it ✨
